WASHINGTON — An International Trade Commission vote today has cleared the way for antidumping duties on wood bedroom furniture from China.

The U.S. Department of Commerce will issue an antidumping order at the end of the month, when the Customs Department will begin collecting duties. Importers have been posting bonds to cover preliminary duties since mid-June.
While final duty rates were announced in November, the possibility remains that the Section A rate (which covers about 55% of the wood bedroom furniture imported from China) could change if the DOC finds that any clerical errors were made in the determination of dumping margins.
